My goal is to photograph from the urban center to the natural center. Joanna turned me on to a great website: http://www.transect.org/ that is all about the zones of urbanism between full nature and full city, urban planning, and healthy societies. I can’t really do it justice, but check out the website. I fully want to join the movement.
I’d like to come up with my own zone system based on theirs for this project and then choose a city/area to focus on that represents each zone. For example: downtown San Francisco for ultimate urban, Montclair for sub-urban, Desolation Wilderness for pure nature, and other select destinations. Places that I can visit several times to try and find images that best represent each zone.
