Zero.Five

In my search for images of nature and city interacting I’ve mostly been in urban zones. Zone Zero would be nature unaltered, or maybe unaffected, by people. Last weekend Jill and I spent the weekend at a hut that was a 5 mile ski in. The area has been heavily impacted by humans: mining, forestry, hydro, and OHVs. So it is far from pristine, but in the winter the snow gives it a more natural feel, thus the low 0.5 rating.

If all my urban core images have a bit of nature in them, do all my zone 0 images have to have some city in them? That is one question I was asking myself as I took these pictures. Another thing that I was thinking about was shelter, and how that changed my winter wilderness experience into a very stress free time.

There are also some pictures that are not related to the project but are fun for me to look at (that being an important part of all of this).

Enjoy!
